WAB Poles

Figures: All are Old Glory except for the Militia with pavise, artillery crew, and hand-gunners which are Essex.
Painting: Tom O.and Tim P. (Heraldry)
Basing: Tom O.

When I got the figures for this army, I started using the Norman list in Armies of Antiquity. I didn’t like how the army worked using that list, so I started writing a list of my own. After lots of testing and rework I got that list published in Warhammer Historical Wargames Armies of Chivalry supplement for WAB. Most of the figures pictured here made the trip to the UK for the photos of the Poles that appear in Armies of Chivalry. I really like the Old Glory figures from the Mongols in Europe range, and am currently working on expanding this army to a later period using figures from the Old Glory Vlad the Impaler range…more pictures of those when I get them done. A special thanks to Tim P. for his wonderful brushwork on the heraldry and another special thanks to Rob Broom for letting me contribute to Armies of Chivalry.

The army consists of: 24 Polish infantry with spear, 24 Lithuanian infantry with spear, 12 Polish axemen, 30 Polish archers, 10 hand-gunners, 2 units each of 16 militia (8 with spear and pavise; 8 with crossbow), 10 Lithuanian cavalry, a General, an Army Standard Bearer, 16 Polish retainers, and 20 Polish knights.
