Taiko |
Figures: Two Dragons and Minifigs
Mon/Standard Decals: VVV
Painting: Al R.
A few of the guys I game with played Taiko at a convention a few years back and were immediately hooked on it. The quickly painted up armies and have since got a few others of us hooked on the game. I didn’t feel like painting this army of Monks up, so worked out a trade and Al painted it up for me. It took some time, but it is finally done, and looks good on the table. I kept it shiny…I don’t think it would look as good dulcoted. If you have never played Taiko (by Flagship Games) and are looking for a fun game for Samurai battles, I recommend it.
The army consists of: 12 stands of cavalry, 28 stands of Monk swordsmen, 20
stands of Monk spearmen/polearms, 10 stands of Monks with missile weapons,
4 command stands, a Taiko (big drum), a ninja, 4 mounted sub-commanders, 9
stands of Ronin with missile weapons, 16 stands of Ronin with hand weapons/pole
armes, 8 stands of peasant bowmen, and 8 stands of peasants with pole arms.
