Figures: Of all of the armies I have, this army has
the widest variety of figure manufacturers in it. There are figures from the
following manufacturers present: Old Glory, Navigator, Newline, and Foundry.
The pictures are labeled for the most part, but some units have multiple manufacturers
in them (like the Gauls). If you have any questions on a certain figure, let
me know.
Shield/Standard Decals: Dark Age Design and VVV
Painting: Tom O. , Joe D. (Elephant and General) and Tim P. (Gallic
shields)
Basing: Tom O.
Like my 15mm troops, the Carthaginians were my first 25mm ancient army (it just seemed like the right thing to do). This is a fun, colorful army to play. There is solid infantry that can be supplemented with a wide variety of supporting troops (everything from elephants to Gauls). I have Italian troops in the army and I use the Spanish stats for them…likewise the Numidians which I’ve used both the Barbarian stats and Spanish stats for. I am looking forward to the Punic Wars supplement for WAB which will likely inspire me to either enlarge this army or replace some of my first paint jobs with better looking troops.
The army consists of: skirmishing Libyan javelinmen (Foundry and Navigator),
Numidian cavalry (Foundry), Spanish cavalry (Old Glory), Spanish infantry
(Foundry with Newline command), Gallic infantry (Old Glory, Foundry, Newline,
Navigator), Gallic cavalry (Foundry), elephants (Foundry), Italian cavalry
(Navigator), Italian infantry (Navigator), Moorish archers (Navigator), Roman
deserters (Navigator), Veteran infantry (Old Glory and Navigator), Punic infantry
(Old Glory), African infantry (Old Glory), Punic cavalry (Foundry), a General
(Navigator) and 2 Army Standards (Newline and a modified Navigator).
