15mm LIR and Palmyran |
Figures: Museum Miniatures, Irregular Miniatures, Essex,
Minifigs, Unknown?
Painting: Tom O. and Fernando Enterprises
Basing: Tom O.
I had a good core of this army done that I used for 200 point DBM games. I didn’t spend a lot of time painting this army, hence the reason it doesn’t look that great. I had the rest of the figures to take it up to 400-500 points, but they sat for quite some time as I focused on my 25mm armies. Recently I sent some painted samples and the rest of the unpainted lead to Fernando Enterprises and his service did an excellent job matching the figures I sent. I have yet to try out all of the Cataphracts…but it should be fun! I like that I can use the army as a pretty large Palmyran army or a slightly smaller Late Roman army. The good news for me is that this is one of my “done” projects and I have no plans on adding anything to it!
The army consists of: 2 stands artillery, 4 stands javelinmen, 8 stands skirmishing
bow, 3 stands lanciarri, 6 stands formed bow, 6 stands auxilia, 9 stands legions,
10 stands baggage, 3 stands camels, 15 stands cataphracts, 2 stands Roman
cavalry, 14 stands various light horse, and 4 stands of generals including
the Zenobia set by Irregular.
