Welcome to “Tomland”

Hello! And welcome to my miniature wargaming site. This site is basically a gallery of my miniature wargaming activities with pictures and text telling you about the different game systems I use and the armies being displayed (including the manufacturer of the figures when known). As with all of the gamers I know, I am never truly “done” with what I want to do with this hobby, so there will be updates to the site from time to time after it is complete. Right now I’m just getting used to my digital camera, so even some of the pictures you see here will likely be replaced as I get better at taking pictures.
I started wargaming in junior high school after playing a few Avalon Hill board games…”Afrika Korps” and “Gettysburg” (the edition with the squares). After that I was hooked and ended up getting several games. I discovered miniatures when I was in the army…micro-armor anyone? Napoleonics soon followed. After moving to Phoenix in 1994 I found some guys playing ancients and that became my next miniatures’ addiction. I have since gotten rid of my micro-armor and Napoleonics, but my collection of ancients has grown immensely, especially after I started gaming with the Warhammer Ancient Battles rules…a fun game that looks great when using 25/28mm miniatures. But as you can tell when going through the site, ancients are not the only kind of games I play.
I’d like to thank Robert Brightwell for taking the time to do the work on getting this site up and running. I’d also like to thank Monsoon Multimedia for hosting the site. Lastly, but certainly not least, I’d like to thank all of my gaming buddies in the Northphoenixirregulars and “the Usual Suspects” who make this hobby something to enjoy.
If you have any questions/comments, you can contact me at Ponatowski"at"aol.com.

Thanks for taking a look.

March 2006 Update: It has been quite some time since this site was updated. Since the last update I’ve had a lot going on…got engaged, moved, got married in Las Vegas by Elvis (no, I’m not kidding…it was a blast!), and moved again! As a result of moving and a bit of a change in the style of games I am enjoying, I’ve gotten rid of some armies and acquired new ones. Most of the sections have been updated to reflect this. There changes include:
-Additions to the 25mm WWII Germans and British
-Added 25mm WWII Finns
-Added 15mm WWII
-Added WAB Successors
-Additions to the 40k Guard
-Added the 40k Iron Warriors
-Added the 40k Daemonhunters
-Added an “Old Armies” page for several armies I no longer own.

My next update will hopefully see additions to the 15mm WWII, 40k Iron Warriors and Daemonhunters, WAB Poles, a new WAB Mitanni Army, some Near Future figures and terrain, and who knows what else!

Thanks as always to Robert Brightwell for doing the work on this site for me. He’s a great guy who’s been through a lot lately…best wishes to Robert’s family.
